Learn the basics of oil painting from the incredibly talented October Sharify! In this two part workshop, October will teach participants of all skill levels to paint using their incomparable oil techniques and palette to make your own 12’’x16’’ animal portrait!

Thursdays, October 8th & 15th, 6-9 pm at Francine’s, 1210 W Granville, Chicago
Week one: pick reference images, create palette, and get started learning techniques!
Week two: refine your image and make finishing touches!
ARTIST BIO:
October is an oil painter and sculptor based in Chicago, Illinois. Their work tends to be high contrast, surreal, and chromatic, using artificially sweet pinks and dark blues. Their longtime interest in history and theology blends in their work with feminine aesthetics and spiritual imagery. They have an African American and Persian cultural background, and often turns to the visual language of their respective culture's past for inspiration.
